Ashley and I went painting today. Here is what did. The scan is making the browns look really red and dark. In fact, blame all of the color issues on the scan...Yes...twas the scanner....

Here are some environments and a character design for my latest class assignment; a mask shop in 1940s Marrakesh. I tried to keep the shapes really graphic, and concentrate on color, but in the end I like my character a LOT more than my environments. Such is the life of a pirate.

I went to a farm to draw animals today. Inspired by the cuteness of sheep in their winter wool, I drew this silly thing. It's Bo Peep, having found her sheep, returning home. I wanted her to be sugar-coated cute, while the sheep I think should be cute bordering on crazy. Happy crazy.

The Widow Ching

Final project for my visual development class; The Widow Ching, pirate queen, of sorts. These are still in need of revisions, so any suggestions would be helpful. We have here some environment thumbnails and value comps, and final b+w and color environment, and final character designs with ideations. Rock.

Figure Drawing Marathon

This winter break we had a nice, week-long, figure drawing marathon. We had some AMAZING models, even some with great costumes. It was a good reminder that I need to get out a draw more naked people to shake the rust off. Here are some samples that weren't completely terrible! I find it important to note these are mostly from the last day of the marathon.
